Placencia, Belize is considered best-kept secret – and an easy prey to hurricanes. Visiting on the Caribbean coast, in a place of unscrupulous permeability.
To Caye Caulker they fly on the casual coral island just across the Caribbean Sea. Alternatively, a little further sang to Ambergris Caye, the island for the richer ones, about the already Madonna. Both are 133 islands that float like breadcrumbs before Belize’s 386 km long coastline.
We fly to Placencia in the south of this tiny country, the same hand ax lies between Mexico, Guatemala and the Caribbean. Placencia is the chief town of a sandy finger of the same name, the 40- kilometers drilled into the sea and scarcely wider than 500 meters. Placencia, the place is at the end of this 40 km , only has about 1000 inhabitants and is supposed to be ” Belize’s best kept secret ” that.
Belize has magnificent atolls, Mayan ruins, and jungle. Correct beaches are rare. People who travel to Cancun or otherwise to the Bahamas, have not lost much here. The peninsula of Placencia, however, is one of the few exceptions. Now, bag into the room, bathing suit and down to the sea.
The whole coastline is a passionate, almost voluptuous rings of sea and land for supremacy, a permanent mutually, mesh and divergence of blue and green, turquoise and brown, vegetation and water.
